In the beginning of July I went on a day trip from Long Island to Pennsylvania with my grandparents. My grandmother wanted to show me what it was like for her grandmother to live in a coal mine. My grandmother is in the process of writing a play about her grandmother. So while we were there naturally I took pictures for myself and the play. We went on a tour at a coal mining museum which showed what a coal mining village was like.
Here are the photographs from the trip.
Strip mines along the side of the road
The breaker room and tracks leading up it in the village
Doctors Office
The Village
The Village Churches
The living quarters.
The age to the houses.
Ill be sure to keep everyone updates with the play that my grandmother is working on. So check back for more pictures, events and news going on!
