Lawn chairs, statue and a house to be demolished.

The other day I met up with a friend for coffee in my home town. He asked if I had my camera on me because he wanted to show me the town green with all these abandoned chairs on it.  Being the photographer who never wants to miss an opportunity we walked over. There was a concert going on that night and people had come over dropped off their chairs and roped off sections for where they will be sitting that night to see the performance. The green looked as if we were the only two people left on Earth with all the hundreds of abandoned chairs waiting for the next moment to be sat on.

My friend then showed me around to other spots that he thought I would enjoy photographing. He was leading me to big woman statue, but along the way I spotted a house that was up for demolition. The reason why it caught my eye was because it looked to perfect to be destroyed.

We finally got to the statue and it was magnificent! Not only was it comical that a large woman was doing a hand stand, but because of her figure the texture was perfect for photos. I began to take abstracts of the shapes of her body along with noticeable body parts in the composition. It was refreshing to see a non perfect body on display for the whole town to see and give a sense of reality and beauty.

What I thought would be an afternoon of caught up turned into a photographing spree! It was nice to know an old friend still recognized my style of work by helping choose scenes for me to photograph.

Above are my favorites from each section and below is the link to check out all the photographs from the shoot. I hope you enjoy!
