I loved my sunday blog that I created for my class, that I decided to create one for all of my photography work! For all my Sunday followers don't worry I'm still using that blog and continuing with my project. I'm using this blog until I can get my website up and running then most likely I will link them together. For the moment I am just finishing up school and ready to graduate college on the 26th! But I always have photos to share.
This one in particular was the photo I was trying to capture all semester long and I finally got it. I came up with the idea to iron the wrinkles out of someones face, however no model was willing to let me put an iron to their face to shoot this picture. Of course the iron would not be plugged in, but possibly the idea was not flattering for them. So I came up with the idea of using a mask. I though I would just have a person wear the mask, but I also thought about just using the mask itself. Since halloween is months away I had trouble finding one in stores so I had to ask around. Eventually I found one thanks to a coworker of mine. I first started taking pictures of the iron just on the mask itself, no person wearing the mask. They came out creepy and abstract but it wasn't displaying the message I wanted. So I asked a friend to wear the mask and pose for me while I laid an iron across their face. And perfection! I was so excited to get the image stuck in my head for months out to show everyone else what I envisioned. I couldn't be more pleased with my photo.
Also in other good news I am now a member of Professional Women Photographers. They are located in New York and in the beginning of June I will be attending my first meeting.
